USCGC Healy is often referred to as the “red-headed stepchild” of the fleet. Not only for her flaming red hull, but also because she is one of only two operational sea-going Icebreakers, as well as being the only ship in her class.
This is a non-official blog centered around the USCG. I am a member of the United States Coast Guard, currently stationed at CGC POLAR STAR. My posts will center around the United States Coast Guard and the Academy. Please feel free to ask me any questions about the USCG, the Academy or in general, and I will do my best to answer them.
